Certificate of Completion & Audit Trail
Every signed document on Invoice For Me generates a Certificate of Completion — a court-admissible audit report attached to the final signed PDF.
What's Included
- Document title and unique ID
- SHA-256 hash of the original document (proves it wasn't tampered with after upload)
- Full signer list with names and emails
- Timestamps for when each signer viewed and signed the document
- IP addresses of each signer at time of signing
- Geographic location (estimated from IP)
- User Agent (browser/device info) for each signing event
Why This Matters Legally
The audit trail proves:
- The document wasn't altered after being signed (via the cryptographic hash)
- The right person signed it (their email + IP + timestamp)
- The signing happened at a specific date and time
Downloading the Certificate
After a document is fully signed, open it in the Documents section and click Certificate in the top toolbar. It will generate and download as a PDF.
Verifying Document Integrity
The SHA-256 hash is printed on the certificate. If you ever need to prove the signed PDF is identical to what was signed, you can compare the hash using any online SHA-256 tool.
