Sending a Document for e-Signature

Invoice For Me has a built-in e-signature feature that lets you send binding, legally defensible documents — like contracts, W-9s, and NDAs — for signature directly from your account.

Step 1: Upload a Document

Go to Documents in the sidebar and click Upload Document. You can upload any PDF.

Step 2: Add Signers

In the document editor, click Send for Signing to open the signing dialog. Add one or more recipients by entering their name and email. You can drag to reorder them — the document will be sent to each person in sequence (routing order).

Step 3: Place Signature Fields

Use the field toolbar at the top to drag fields onto the document:

  • Signature – a full handwritten-style signature
  • Initials – a compact initial block
  • Date – auto-filled when the signer signs
  • Text – a free-text field

You can assign each field to a specific signer by selecting them first.

Step 4: Send

Click Send for Signing. Each signer will receive an email with a unique, secure link to review and sign the document.

After Signing

When all parties have signed, you (the sender) receive a notification email. You can then download the signed PDF or the Certificate of Completion, which includes the full audit trail (timestamps, IP addresses, SHA-256 document hash).
